2007 Fanfest PvP Tournament

CCP is proud to present to you the annual PvP tournament. This event brings together players from all over the world to experience the thrill of PvP combat face to face.
This year the participants will fight it out in teams of four pilots. These teams can be composed of your corp mates, alliance mates, or other people you have just met.
If you have already organised youself and your friends into a team, and know the team name, you will then be able to signup for this event here in a few weeks time. You will be able to edit your registration should you desire.
If you are still unsure about which team you will be a part of, or wish to be assigned to a team, then leave the team name blank.
The forum thread for the PVP tournament can be found
here.
The signup form for the PVP tournament can be found
here. We are at capacity and any further signups are not guaranteed a place in the tournament, extra players will however be added to the standby list.
Registered teams can be seen
here.
Rules
General rules
Single-elimination format will be used.
32 teams will be allowed to compete. (128 pilots)
Registration will be closed October 21.
Pilots will be allowed entry on a first-come first-serve basis. Additional signups will be classified as "reserves" and will replace any pilot unable to attend on the day.
A pilot cannot compete on behalf of more than one team at a time.
Corporations/pilots are encouraged to form teams based on alliance/corp loyalties.
Fights will be stopped after 15 minutes if both teams still have ships on the battlefield. The winner is decided on which team has the most ships still surviving.
Pilots will be provided with a special "super" character, which will have the skill to use any ship or modules. Podkilling is irrelevant. No implants will be provided.
Place and Tactics
Teams are brought to a star system in uncharted space and designated as Team 1 and Team 2.
They will have 20 minutes to setup ships and moduels in station before they are to move to the assembly beacons.
There are eight beacons in the system which serve as start off points. Four beacons are marked for Team 1 and four marked for Team 2. The teams must assemble at any of the four beacons designated for their team.
Once the word is given, teams warp in to the arena from whichever beacon they assembled, at a range they prefer, up to a maximum of 40 km. Team members are allowed to warp in at different ranges.
The arena will measure a 125 km radius, 250km diameter.
After the teams have warped in to the arena, they will wait for referee clearance to begin the fight. This is to allow time to set up the cameras.
When the referee is ready, he will set of a powerful ECM burst and warps off. This signals the start of the fight.
If a player warps out/leaves the arena, His/her ship will be destroyed.
Warping within the arena is not allowed.
Jettisoning any object is not permitted.
Locking the enemy team before the match starts is NOT allowed.
Moving ships to improve positions before the match starts is NOT allowed.
