Signup & Registration

  • Online registration is closed. Check out the team pairings for the first 24 teams here
  • 32 teams in total will compete in the tournament. Each team consists of a minimum of 5 players. One standin is also allowed at the time of the tournament.
  • The team captain should register his team. The first 16 teams registered by their captain, on a first-come-first served basis, will be given guaranteed tournament slot. Players must then add themselves to the team roster.
  • At the end of the registration period, any team signed up for a guaranteed slot that does not have a full 5-man team registered will have their slot reassigned to the next team that signed up that does have a full 5-man team registered.
  • All remaining teams that do not receive a guaranteed slot will be entered into a lottery for a tournament position. There will be 8 of these positions available. The drawing will be filmed at CCP and will be published on www.eve-online.com in October. The pairings for the tournament will also be assigned at this time.
  • After the draw, all teams that still do not have a place will be entered into a lottery for a slot, to take place live at the Fanfest on Thursday 6th November. These will be drawn from the tinfoil hat together with teams that have signed up at the Fanfest.
  • Five alternate teams will be chosen in order and will replace any team in round one found not to have all of their members present at the start of the match.
  • Signups for teams will be open on Thursday 6th November at the Fanfest. Incomplete teams may sign up at this time. There will also be a 'looking for a team' area for people to make teams on the day; exact details of this will be clearly displayed in the tournament area at the Fanfest. Signups will end at 16:00 to prepare for the opening ceremony and drawing.
  • A pilot cannot compete on behalf of more than one team
  • You must purchase a Fanfest pass in order to register for the PVP tournament.
  • Pilots are encouraged to form teams based on alliance/militia/corporation loyalties.
  • One slot will be reserved in the last 8 drawing allocation for last year's Fanfest PvP champions as long as they have at least 3 of the same players participating.

Rules Enforcement

  • Each game will be physically monitored by two GMs.
  • All rules will be enforced by GMs using in-game tournament tools.
  • All rule breaches are punishable by ship destruction, point deduction, or disqualification. Rules breaches that will result in a disqualification are marked (DQ).
  • The tournament organiser has final authority to make any and all judgements required.

Tournament Format

  • Single-elimination format will be used.
  • 32 teams will be allowed to compete. (160 pilots)
  • The tournament will run over two days; Friday 7th November for all games up to and including the semi finals, and Saturday 8th November for the 3rd/4th playoff and the tournament final.
  • Pilots will be provided with a special "super" character, which will have the skill to use any ship or modules to be used.
  • Each round will comprise of a 15 minute setup time followed by a 15 minute game round.
  • After each round, there will be a 15 minute 'cleanup period' during which players may not be logged in to the game.
  • At the designated start time, all players will log in and may begin pre-battle preparations. Any players not present will no longer be allowed to log in.
  • A missing player may be replaced by a standin as long as he/she is present at the login time.
  • If a team is missing a player, they may choose to play or forfeit the match.
  • All start times and playing locations will be clearly advertised in advance of the Fanfest, and at the Fanfest itself in the PvP area.
  • Alternate Teams will have a dedicated location to wait in case of an opening arises. They should be in the PVP waiting area 5 minutes prior to each first round match.
  • There will be a break for lunch, as per the tournament schedule.

Victory Conditions

  • Points are scored for all ore that is desposited into your team's Rorqual before the time limit is up.
  • After 15 minutes the match is finished, and stored ore counted. Veldspar = 1 point p/u, Gneiss = 100 points p/u, Arkonor = 500 points p/u.
  • The winning team is the team that has the most points.
  • In the unlikely event of a tie, teams will each draw a card from a tiebreaker deck of cards depicting the ores in use at the tournament. The team that draws the higher value ore wins. In the event of a tie again, they will redraw again until there is a winner.

Arena

  • The arena is defined as a 150km radius sphere centred on the Arkonor asteroid.
  • Any ship leaving the arena will be automatically destroyed.
  • Team warp-in beacons are 180km apart.
  • At each team warp-in beacon will be a friendly Rorqual piloted by an NPC who will take no actions during the combat.
  • There will be 5 asteroids spaced at 30km intervals between the beacons, as detailed below.
    • Beacon1+Rorqual1 - Veldspar - Gneiss - Arkonor - Gneiss - Veldspar - Beacon2+Rorqual2
  • See the video on this page for an illustration of the arena.
  • Each asteroid will have a quantity of 100,000 units of ore.

Pre-game & Game Rules

  • Teams are brought to a star system in uncharted space and designated as Team 1 and Team 2. They will have 15 minutes to setup ships and modules in station, and may not undock during this time.
  • Once the word is given by the GM in charge, players must undock and warp to their team's beacon.
